The story of Muullberry Art Studio is one of passion, love, and a journey of artistic discovery. It began in the charming town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada, where Anita Surma, an internationally acclaimed portrait and fashion photographer, found herself yearning for a new creative outlet.

Anita's love for photography had taken her around the world, capturing the essence of human emotion and beauty for over 14 years. Yet, amidst the whirlwind of photo shoots and travels, a dormant passion for painting began to stir within her. She felt a deep-seated desire to create art that could touch people's hearts in a different way—through the vibrant strokes of a brush.

Supported by her high school sweetheart and now devoted husband, Anita decided to take a courageous step. She put her camera aside and embraced the world of acrylic painting, allowing her creative spirit to explore new dimensions. This transition was not easy, but with the unwavering support of her loving family, including her two children and two beloved dogs, Anita found the inspiration she needed.

It was during one of their family walks in the beautiful surroundings of Niagara-on-the-Lake that the vision for Muullberry Art Studio began to take shape. The serene landscapes, the vibrant colors of the flowers, and the joyful presence of her dogs sparked a creative fire within Anita. She envisioned a studio that would celebrate the beauty of nature, the charm of pets, and the allure of travel—all through contemporary art.

And so, Muullberry Art Studio was born. Named after the mulberry trees that lined their favorite walking paths, the studio became a sanctuary where Anita could pour her heart and soul into her paintings.
